Code.org has never been good or useful for making large scale projects which is why I have never made any of mine public. I've created things like Spotify in CDO, making server requests, I've even decentralized the database to another server and documented it all with my source code available for everyone (though you'll still see people complain about how they keep getting hacked - next time, don't log in using user IDs and actually hash your passwords). The state of the site has never been great, and overall the lacking security features makes it unbearable to try and code anything. I've been using Replit on and off in the past 2 years and it is 100x better. I think with code.org I've always liked the challenge of generating new concepts and accomplishing something never even thought of previously, though now it feels stale and there's no real community backing it any longer. For the time being I will stick with Replit and post all of my projects on their site, where I can code peacefully knowing that my app won't be at risk for any poorly coded security risks.
I've had fun on code.org. I remade the actual Photop site on CDO, indirectly made at create data-browser, hell, I've even pirated sports streams on here - but my point is, all of these were back when it was fun to code, when it didn't feel like a burden or like there was a pressure to do so. There's a reason all of the good, creative minds have left code.org already, and it's because CDO offers nothing, and their approach to fixing issues is the equivalent of slapping a Band-Aid on a cut-off leg. Resorting to deleting a person's account is absolutely ridiculous; they've erased a crucial part of that person's experience
