  • Remember when Code.org didn't have so many low effort projects? Yeah me neither.

I remember when I was popular in code.org when I made a project called "Red vs Black" years ago. A lot of people made mods of it, like making a bigger stage, making different movesets for my fighters, making surprisingly good back grounds and adding different music. But I only saw a handful of other people like me doing other amazing high effort projects. there were still SO MANY low effort ones. I know that alot of people don't know how to make fine pixel art but GOOD LORD. I have seen people over at Scratch doing better than over there. No disrespect to the people making them but WOW it's getting repetitive, like the "fnf.org" projects Codemaster keeps putting out.

Zeldaria Thank you. I only see fnf.org and chats so it can get very difficult to see some other projects on the site

Same, it is annoying like at least semi try and how do you fail at making a picture in-app lab I have a thing someone remixed and added pictures and my first script looked better than it

Tbf coding does take time but if I can animate a video, do homework, work on coding the project to make it look fabulous, and still have extra time on the side while your's looks like absolute trash, you are either:
A. overcomplicating it
or
B. being lazy and remixing other peoples work and calling it your own.
People have to realize code.org is the easy mode of coding. They just have to TRY once.

THIS
is why you should move to

KA

NOT SCRATCH,
KHAN ACADEMY

khan academy literally has pages of A++ high quality stuff

AND,
unlike scratch,

it isn't just the same generic platformer OVER and OVER again!

I see you are over defending Code.org when most people I see have low effort and spammed projects. I see what you are saying with scratch but still at least scratch doesn't delete every project that can't seem to make it on the front page. At least Scratch preserves its projects while code.org erases them from existence except for the link. At least you can make more banger animations on Scratch better than on Code.org with it's pixel art nobody knows how to do unless they are pros. The only thing I see code.org having the upper hand is easier coding but even then it still kinda gets outmatch. I love both code.org and scratch equally but the low effort on code.org gotta stop.

    yeah >:(

At least I TRY to make my projects good even if they're gonna be just little animations because I'M WEIRD LIKE THAT!

Code only makes good things every few months in my opinion.

INTERNECION It's a common misconception that code.org projects are deleted after a certain amount of time. This is not the case. The code.org public projects page only shows the last 100 projects published. A rule of thumb is to just republish your project every 8 hours if you want it to remain on the public page.

Brendan Yes but that is where the spam comes in and the spam always comes in right after so that they can stay on the first page

      25 days later

i kinda dont care about yall publish it if you want if tis reallt that gud it will get remixed somehow and be save for pretty much forever

I am actually working on a thing that has projects like the library but only good projects can be in it

It will also be a chat room
I am just having problems with it and am just going to ask Brendan if I can use velocity as a base

add what you want just nothing inappropriate, this is very mutch still being worked on
