  • Why Code.org Project R3d is a good and bad thing

ItsDannyBruh
i think the problem is that CDO is primarily a learning site, and secondarily a sharing site.
cdo's main purpose and goal is to introduce and teach programming to kids, not to support a community which is why ka, which actually tries to support a community, is better.

now you might ask, why does cdo even have a public projects page?
tbh, i dont fukin know. someone probably thought it was a good idea or maybe cdo thought they needed it to compete with the other learning sites

ItsDannyBruh Tip for posts in the future:

That thing about leaking the IPs and SS numbers? It could have been Sam, and Sam must have been lying a bit, because that was me, and all I did was put a backdoor into some of my code, which he shamelessly stole, which I exploited. I then told Sam that I stole all of his account info and had access to his projects, which he believed because, it's Sam. If such info was constantly spammed, how come I've never seen it? How do you know that the house had anything to do with anybody? Who is the goddamn person you are even talking about? Make sure your sources are reliable, kids.

Ravage it was peptobepto, there was a official project r3d project and it said in people who were behind this it said "Creator of Project R3d is peptobepto" and remember, i said this might be inaccurate

ItsDannyBruh "War" there really isn't war... since they really can't do anything about it (unless they pull an adam move). I believe the "war" only happened in chat rooms and a few projects published telling Sam to stop. (note, few)

miztis and if it only happens in chat rooms... we can just simply report them with 3 clicks

ackvonhuelio if they WANT to compete, they should remove the phone UI and add a custom screen size because it removes a lot of space for making projects, add a search bar, and have a better moderation

miztis (maybe I can make my touhou ripoff better and with extra space lol)

people may be chatting and commenting on this post sill in a few months, it might age well

Ravage you were saying who was that person i talked about, i explained who, and i said most of the info may be inaccurate in my reply, as it did say that in the post.

Honestly, it's not a problem with the nature of the chats & the technology behind them, rather, a community problem and a lack of moderation on these things. Chats have lots of potential but are harmful if used in the wrong way. Since I keep copies of FCR separate from code.org, it is impossible to ban it forever.
