Everything in life will end, but that end is never just the end, it is always the beginning of something new. I have had some great memories with you guys on this forum & I am saddened by it's shutdown. However, with the new discord and WatermelonKatana, this community will continue to survive.
I started interacting with the code.org community again a little over a year ago. I met a few of you on the chats and I eventually made my own. I eventually learned of this forum from those chats and I have had an excellent time on here since then.
Over this time, Replit had shut down it's free hosting & CDO removed public projects, replacing them with featured projects. Both events dealt a massive blow to the community here, yet, we continued. Now, we must continue again as this forum hits its limits.
Code.org is a children's coding platform, and it has always been one. One of my main reasons for using it was that public projects are an easy way for my games to reach a large young audience. Now that code.org has stopped, I will move on from code.org in the coming months. (Additionally, I am taking a heavy courseload and multiple extracurriculars this year so I may not code as frequently as I would want.) I would recommend branching out from code.org and learning professional web development. WatermelonKatana allows users to post games from any site, not just code.org.
As I have stated before, this forum and the memories I have had on it will live fondly in my memory as we begin this new chapter of our community.
So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish
