person tldr; it bypasses chrome extensions as the app uses a webview app that doesn't have extensions.

its odd. i believe what's happening is it's using a browser that displays in the app. the app uses no extensions from your chrome browser and so that means whatever extension they use to block sites is bypassed. unless they block it on the router directly, everything is at your disposal.

      babyshroomie so the webview I'll assume. the webview is the way your system can display web browser pages. your browser uses a webview inside of it and the browser allows you to change what site displays. in this case, the app has a webview so it can display those pages. that webview doesn't have extensions to block items on it so it bypasses whatever your school has in place. hence why you can unblock it using those steps.
